Hike at Purgatory Falls (with Lunch Afterward) | 3 20s and 30s Meetup Mashup

Hello, everyone! I wanted to schedule an event for those with no plans to travel for the Thanksgiving holiday this year. I am planning a hike at Purgatory Falls near Mont Vernon, New Hampshire. The hike will be a moderate 5.5 mile hike with an elevation gain of about 600 ft. We will be traveling via the Purgatory Brook Trail and the View Loop; there are some very scenic views! The featured photo is one that I took on a previous visit. Please note that I am also posting this event in the “Outdoor Adventures 20s and 30s” Meetup group and the “20s and 30s Hanging Out” Meetup Group. Dogs are welcome at this location, but must be kept on a leash.

Parking for this event is located in a dirt parking lot off of Dow Rd; please select the “directions” link at View Loop to Purgatory Brook Trail, New Hampshire - 568 Reviews, Map | AllTrails for driving directions. Your GPS may indicate that you have arrived at the parking lot about 1 mile before arriving at the actual parking lot; just continue to drive straight and bear right at the fork on Dow Rd. You will come to a dirt parking lot on the right side of the road that connects to a cul-de-sac: this is the parking lot and trailhead for Purgatory Falls.

If the parking lot is full, then you may park on the side of the cul-de-sac beyond the "No Parking" Signs. I will arrive early and guide friends with parking in the event that the parking lot fills up. I cannot guarantee that there will be enough parking spaces for a large group, and for those bringing guests, please carpool.

Plan to arrive at 9:15 am. I will post a comment in the comments section when I arrive and wait for friends to gather. We will begin the hike at 9:30am. I estimate that the hike will take about 4 hours, but we will travel at our own pace. After the hike, we can stop somewhere for lunch for those who are interested in lunch afterward. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you are concerned about the difficulty of this hike. I want friends to feel comfortable and our pace won’t leave anyone behind.
