What we’re about
What we are: A book club that meets once a month to discuss all sorts of books. A female meetup group for those interested in female friendships, social events, making new friends, etc. The average age of our members is mid 20s- to mid-30s but we're flexible on the age (you must be 21+) we have a few members now in their 40s.
We ask that you have a photo of yourself with your face visible in order to be approved to the group, this way we can identify you at our future events! In addition, if you're not active within 3-6 months of joining we will unfortunately ask you to leave the group. We're looking to develop a group that is active in our events. We know schedules are busy and everyone cannot attend every event but please make an effort to join us!
Please note that we are a LOCAL BOOK CLUB. While most of our book discussions are virtual, we also have regular in-person meetings and many of our members join with the intention of making local friends. As such, we only accept members who fit a loose definition of local (up to about 200 miles from the Chicago suburbs). You are not required to attend in-person events but we encourage you to do so. If you live further away than this, there is likely a similar book club closer to you and we will not approve your request to join.
