What we’re about
Welcome to our Social/Active Group! When joining this group you will have the chance to go hiking, bowling, play pool, attend movie nights, game nights, grab dinner, go to breweries, bars, go dancing, have parties, go to festivals, and join in whatever other fun activities we plan. Most of these events will take place either in NJ or PA, but sometimes even further than that.
Who should join?
Each one of our organizers and event hosts know the best places to hit for meetup events. Anyone who chooses to join an event is getting the opportunity to meet new people and discover what type of places are out there. Our meetup group is growing everyday because many of our members have been spreading the word. That word is FRIENDSHIP! By joining our group you are getting that opportunity to break out of your shell and find that our meetup group will change your life in a positive aspect.
Please provide any suggestions for fun activities to do that aren't currently posted.
If possible, a micro donation of $1 helps to support the yearly costs of running the group.
Thanks!
- Joe & Serena

ALL MEMBER RULES:
Harassment/ Bullying:
Please treat everyone with respect. We are creating a welcoming community for everyone. We work hard to ensure a good, safe environment for old friends and new friends. We do not tolerate harassment, bullying, or behavior that makes the group as a whole feel uncomfortable. If you feel that yourself or another member’s safety, mental, or emotional health is being compromised, please speak to your Event Host or to Serena or Joe.
No shows:
We all have busy lives, but we also have an RSVP list. Please try your best to provide your hosts with appropriate attendance information so events can be planned properly, and adjustments made if the situation arises.
We get it, life happens and sometimes you cannot make a meetup. However, excessive repeat instances of no-shows without changing the RSVP, or excessive repeat instances of no-shows to a reserved event where the number of people matters (restaurant reservations, smaller ticketed events, etc) may cause issues for the group and thus may cause you to be banned from future events.
Respect - Please be respectful towards others. We are all here to have good time, to make new friends and to catch up with old friends. Not everyone will get along, but blatant rudeness is just that- rude.
Please respect your Host. If you have an issue with your Host, then don’t come to their Event. Hosts put time and effort into creating, planning, and running successful events; they have a lot to handle during an event, and while they may not be able to cater to every individual’s needs, they are doing their best to create a positive environment for the group as a whole. Please do not be disrespectful.
FOR EVENT HOSTS/EVENT ORGANIZERS:
If you would like to Host an event:
Everyone is welcome to host an event! If you would like to host, please contact Serena or Joe or another Organizer.
If you would like to become an Organizer:
You must host at least three (3) successful events to be considered as an official Event Organizer of the group. By becoming an Event Organizer, you will be joining our Leadership team, and may host future events yourself whenever you want. Please contact Serena or Joe if you would like to be considered.
* All Hosts/ Organizers are subject to Organizer rules (see below)
* Leadership roles represent our group and have additional responsibilities.
* We reserve the right to select appropriate Leaders.
EVENT ORGANIZERS:
1. Event Cancellation/ No Event - Please do not schedule an event only to cancel it. This creates confusion all around, is unfair to members who want to attend, and will not be tolerated. Events should be posted if and only if the Host/Event Organizer is able to uphold the commitment.
If something comes up and Host/ Event Organizer is unable to host the event, please contact another Host/ Event Organizer to take your place. In addition, please post appropriate message on the Event to avoid Member confusion.
*Exceptions to Event Cancellation/ No Event :
a) If the Event is subject to weather conditions: Please make note of this in the original Event post, please keep your members updated prior to the Event.
b) If the Event is reservation dependent: Please make note of this in the original Event post, and state the minimum number of reservations needed for Event to occur.
c) Unavoidable last minute emergency: Please be safe.
2. Staying Active: If you are an official Event Organizer, you must plan an event at least once every two (2) months in order to preserve your Event Organizer role.
3. Don’t Mess with Your Co-Host Events: This should go without saying, but please do not edit any Event other than your own, unless you have asked someone to help.
4. Collaborations/ Double Hosting: Collaborations with other meetup groups can be fun, but please be conscious of double-hosting the same events. All meetup groups are special and unique in their own way, and too many double-hosting can create confusion. We will reserve double hosting for larger scale special events, but please refrain from double hosting smaller typical events. If you would like to do a collaboration with another meetup group, please speak with Organizers of each meetup group.
4. Leadership Responsibilities: Leadership roles must uphold leadership qualities and be representative of our group as a whole. You have a responsibility toward running a successful Event and additional duties to perform. Please treat others with respect and please take your role honorably. With that said, have fun at your own Event!
