What we’re about

Hi my name is Sean Adair.  I have worked on a bunch of Hollywood films as a VFX artist and I also have written/produced/directed a wide range of independent films, web-series and shorts. You can find a list here:

I started this group because most of the filmmaking Meetups were about lectures, watching films or networking at bars. I wanted to Meetup and make movies and those didn't exist or were a scam. So I started this group.  Our first meeting was August 6 2017 and the video we made that day is here:

Since then we have made 23 more short films, plus a feature film. You can watch them here on our YouTube channel.

At our regular meetups we meetup, chat for a bit, watch the previous Meetup's video and then write a script and film it. Afterwards the footage will be edited and posted to the group's YouTube channel

If you have any questions send me a message on the app and I will try to answer as quick as I can.

Thanks and hope to see you at a future Meetup. Until then, keep making Films!

FAQ:

1) Where is the meetup location? A: At the address listed. However, it is my private residence so as a modicum of security I require that you call or text on the day of the Meetup if we have never met before.

2) I don't have any experience. Can I come?  A: Yes! All are welcome

3) Who is this group for? A: Actors, people interested in acting, people who want to test camera equipment, writers, musicians.

4) What kind of videos do you make? A: Generally comedy. But we have also made drama, romance, sci-fi, western, horror, and noir

5) Wait, you write the same day you film? A: Yeah, typically. It allows the group to adapt based on who show up and what ideas they have.

6) Who edits the videos? A: Typically I do. If someone else would like to they are more than happy to.

7) I have a script that I want to film. A: If you are flexible with the location and crew then we can film it. If not, I can also work as a paid consultant on any side projects. DM me if interested.

8) How much does it cost? A: Nothing. Currently, it is free to attend. We sometimes order pizza though and you can chip in for that if you want.

9) What do I get out of it? A: A fun day, great demo reel footage, a video with your name on it to show your friends, practice acting or making movies.
