What we’re about
ABOUT US
We are Bianca and Henrieta and we started running just a while ago, so we are both beginners.
This group is designed to be more of a support group, where we encourage each other and keep us motivated. We also want to connect and promote movement in general regardless of the background, training, skills, body, and so on.
Furthermore, we want to create a safe environment for people who are neurodivergent or experiencing mental disorders or people who want to use movement to improve their mental health.
We both really started with just a few steps and some discipline, have gone through ups and downs with running, love and hate, frustrations, breaks and now we want to create this community to build a habit, because community is especially important when things get tough.
IMPORTANT
This is not a specialized course or training. Please consider that we are also beginners when it comes to running techniques/injury prevention/specific exercises, therefore we cannot offer professional support or advice, but we can always learn together.
RULES
The more beginner you are, the better! Obviously anyone is welcome, but please consider that if you have advanced skills this group may not be suitable for you.
Feel free to run as much as you can, at what pace you feel comfortable or alternate walking and running.
It's a space where you can swear if you want, be frustrated if it's too hard and express yourself as you need to.
We are aiming for 3 km at a small pace as our target, but we can always go on to do more.
Also, if this is your first run or you don't think you can handle the effort or you can just run 500 m, please don't give up and come! You create resilience, you don't need to have it!
PLEASE, oh please, always remember to listen to your body!
We encourage an open, diverse, tolerant, neurodivergent and respectful environment.
Put your shoes on, leave your comfort zone and come with us to build a running culture for everyone, starting with one step.
