Name: Winter Solstice Hike without the Traditional Goat Sacrifice

*The Winter Solstice is actually around 4:00 AM on Saturday, so we are doing the hike the day before the actual Solstice.*

**THE HIKE:** This will be an easy walk through the woods and up to an excellent vista on Jerry Hill in Concord. We will take a short lunch break at Gilfillan Rock, which is listed in the book, *"New Hampshire Rocks that Rock".*

**HIKE DETAILS:**

* Distance: About 2 - 3 miles R/T
* Elevation gain: About 250 feet
* Duration: About 3 hours

**DRIVING DIRECTIONS:**

* From Rte 93 just south of Concord
* Take I-89 N and get off at Exit 2 (2.2 mi)
* At the end of the off-ramp, take a right onto Clinton St (0.7 m )
* At the light, turn left onto Langley Pkwy. (0.8 mi )
* At the light turn left onto Pleasant St. (1.4 mi)
* Turn right onto Long Pond Rd. (0.8 mi)
* Destination is a small parking lot on the left.

Parking is also allowed on the same side of the road as the parking lot. **Do NOT park on the opposite side of the street**.

**DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THIS HIKE.**
