What we’re about
Interested in meeting with other Seattle area women over 40? Interested in books? Interested in a glass of wine (or other fine beverage) with other women over 40 who have a similar interests? We would love to have you join our group! We are North Seattle (and surrounding areas) women who share good wine, interesting books, relaxed conversation, and wonderful varied insights over a pot luck of appetizers, snacks and desserts.
Our monthly meetings have a rhythm, if not a pattern. We meet on the first Saturday in the Ravenna area of Seattle for non-fiction books (a new experiment for 2024) and the third Saturday of each month in Lake Forest Park. Below you will find the books selected for upcoming months as well as past selections. Please make sure you allow Meetup to email you as all members will be notified when the event is open for RSVPs. Public & ticketed events will be open from the time they are posted. Please note, you may need to secure your own ticket to some events.
PLEASE NOTE: This group requires that attendees for in person events are fully vaccinated and maintaining current boosters. If you are not yet fully vaccinated, we look forward to having you join us once you are. If you are just beginning the vaccination process, please wait until 2 weeks after your vaccination series is complete. Boosters do not require a waiting period. Thank you for protecting the health of our group and supporting our in-person gathering.
In addition to the book discussions, we also gather for happy hours and dinner, as well as events to attend lectures, films, game nights, and regional events as a group. We hope you will join us!
Please note that your RSVP to attend an event is considered a commitment by this group. If you RSVP Yes, we expect to see you. Due to growth in our membership and an expanding wait list to attend events, No Shows are tracked and members who reach 3 No Shows will be removed from group events for 3 months to allow others who are committed to attending to have a space in the event.
40+ Women Wine & Books does require $12 annual dues after the first 60 days. This is to cover the expense of hosting this group on Meetup, currently $300 annually. After 60 days, Meetup will remove you from our events automatically if you have not paid dues. Please note - Organizers have NO control of this and we cannot add you back if you are removed and the put on the waiting list once the dues are paid. This is Meetup's process, not the group. Thanks for your understanding!
