Camping at Oscar Scherer State Park, Osprey, FL
Details
Come camp with the scrub jays. An oasis in an urban landscape, this park has 15 miles of hiking trails and provides habitat to the endangered scrub jay. Eagles nest here during the winter months. Bring your bicycle and follow the Legacy Trail to Amish sticky buns that are to die for.
We can also visit Celery Fields which is a nearby wild life refuge similar to Wakodahatchee and Green Cay but larger.
Sites come with electric and water and are nestled in the scrub. Reserve your spot at https://reserve.floridastateparks.org. No sites available? Take advantage of the "Notify Me" feature on the website or post in the comments to find someone to share. This park fills up so don't wait to book!
