What we’re about

Let's challenge ourselves to do 52 hikes in 52 weeks. There is an official challenge, and I will post a link below. It is not necessary to participate in the official challenge. I will be participating in the challenge for extra motivation. In this group you can challenge yourself in a way that works for you! I don't keep up with the number of hikes anyone does other than myself. There may be some weeks that you can't make it, but don't let that stop you from trying to get your own hike or walk in that week. There may be weeks that I am out of town and will have to get in a hike on my own. Ultimately, this group's goal is to do more hikes! Most will be no longer than 6 miles, but a few will be longer. Some will be walks around a lake or park. Some weeks I may be able to plan 2 hikes/walks. After almost every hike/walk, there will be a "post-hike" lunch/dinner/drinks planned for somewhere nearby. These are always optional and a chance to socialize.

You can go at your own pace in this group, but we are not in a hurry out there. We enjoy taking pictures, stopping to look at the views and talking along the way. If you miss the first few hikes, feel free to join in and start at any time! First hike of this year is planned for January 6, 2024. As always, weather will be a factor in determining what kind of hike we plan.

*Most of the hikes will be on weekends, however, during Daylight Saving Time some hikes will be scheduled on weekday evenings.
