Honolulu City Lights Parade!
Details
[This event is identical to the IGA event; no need to sign up twice 😊]
I love a parade! It’s time for the annual Christmas LIGHTS Parade! So come join us!!!
This great parade starts at 6:30 p. m. along King Street from Aala Park (River Street) to Honolulu Hale. (530 S. King Street). There are all sorts of lights on all sorts of vehicles! - People with lights! - Marching bands with lights!! - Performers with lights! The sidewalks will be very crowded - In past years, more than 75,000 people gather for opening night! The city Christmas tree lighting ceremony will be held at 6pm, at Honolulu Hale. But instead, we'll stake out a place that’s better for the parade itself.
Our group, joining with Island Group Adventures, will meet in front of Bishop Square (corner of Bishop & King) again this year, at about 6 pm to watch the parade. This is in the middle of the parade route.
As an alternative, some of us might also meet at The Nighthawk bar (corner of King St. & Nuuanu St.). The bar fronts the parade route, plus you can purchase food & drinks there too.
Mark (I.G.A.) will be wearing one of his silly, singing Christmas hats. I'll just be there. I'll post comments on the meetup event site. I’ll confirm our location when I'm there; and also if we’re on the move. We’ll try to stay to see Santa at the end; then decide (and post) where we’ll meet afterward for drinks/food.
There will be vendors, food trucks, and live entertainment set up between the Mission Memorial Building and the Fasi Municipal Building. The food truck lines can be long, so mo better grab da kine before going.
For more information about the night's and month's festivities, please visit The Honolulu City Lights website.
