What we’re about
The Calgary Photographic Society (CPS) is for people who are interested in becoming better photographers. The CPS objectives are to improve the techniques and visual awareness of members through discussion, comparisons and constructive criticism. To promote the skills and capabilities of members through exhibitions, shows and displays. To arrange and co-ordinate the presentation of workshops, lectures and seminars.
CPS meets the first Wednesday of every month except July and August. Our monthly meeting is comprised of either a speaker or a presentation on a photography related topic. We also have a print critique each month. Members can bring in a print in either or both of the Open or Theme categories.
For the month's of January and June, we have a model shoot. January's shoot is to practice studio lighting and June's shoot is to practice outdoor lighting techniques. There usually is a small fee to cover any expenses for the evening.
The membership for the year is $30. This will be collected when you attend your first meeting of the year.
