This is a group for folks who have just moved to Chicago, or who aren't originally from here. If you've chosen to make Chicago your home, it's a great place to be- there's lots of friendly faces, tons of culture, and so much to do. Join us for chances to meet new people and get to know this new city.

For those of you who want to know:
Is this a singles group? No, not exclusively. People might meet others to date, certainly, but that's not the point of this group.
Is this a networking group? Again, not exclusively, but if you make some good business connecting or find a job through this group, that's great!
Is this a Chicago-centric group? Yes. It's just easier to focus the group on the city area. Events outside the city are welcome, but be aware that the majority of folks on this group are likely to live within the city itself. Thanks.

When Chicago heads indoors for the winter, be active and social in our Simply Social intramural leagues! All skill levels are welcome! You can join by yourself or with friends and get placed on a coed team for the season.
Starting in January & February, we've got lots of great 5-7 week leagues to play in. Some are actual sports, while others are more of a super fun activity to break up the work week.
All of them are amazing for meeting new people and having fun! There's no better way to build lasting relationships than during a season getting together with the same people week after week.

To play, simply register on our website by yourself or with friends and I'll put you on a coed team with others around your age for the season. Then before we start I'll email EVERYTHING you need to know for the season including your teammate info, the full schedule, how/where we play and TONS more!
REGISTER HERE TO JOIN US as we MEETUP for some recreational level sports and activities! There's absolutely nothing better in the city than getting to know new people playing games and then over drinks at your nearby league sponsor bar that all teams hang out at.
*Want to get on a team but can't make it to every game? No problem! We put extra players on every team for this very reason.

The Laugh Factory in Lakeview (Broadway & Belmont) is open for comedy and we all could use some laughs! We always get A LOT of people to attend these shows. Often times over 100 Meetup members!
If you attend by yourself or with friends and want to be seated in the Meetup group section, simply request this when you check in at the ticket booth! Then just say hi to those around you :)
Every First Friday of the month we get $5 TICKETS to their shows at 7:00, 9:15 & 11:30 pm. They're ALWAYS hilarious!

*You can purchase tickets for several people and multiple shows this night through the link. No physical tickets will be issued. Your name will be on a list at the door and all tickets will be under the purchaser's name. Groups of up to 6 people can be sat together if arriving together.
Please Note: These shows are for ages 18+ w/ ID. If you show up after start time you will not be able to enter. There is a 2 drink minimum per person per show (non-alcoholic or alcoholic). Drinks are reasonably priced, and a comedy show is funnier with a few drinks, so this shouldn't be an issue with how cheap our tickets are :) Also, an 18% service fee (aka gratuity) will be applied to all drink tabs at payment to be given directly to service staff.
No refunds or exchanges but tickets can be transferred.

Is there parking? Street parking and some garages are available throughout the area. However, public transit, ridesharing apps, and taxi services are highly encouraged.
What is the dress code? There is no dress code. Be comfortable!

Hey everyone! 2024 has been quite the year, and before we know it 2025 will be here! And the big question for NYE parties is where should you go!?Well I've got good news :)
I've searched around for the best parties in Chicago (and one in Wheeling for the suburbs folks) and they're all offering SUPER discounted tickets if you get them early on! The price goes up as tickets are sold, so gather up your friends or come solo to make new ones and pick a party to attend.
