What we’re about
Mission Statement & Rules
Our mission is simple - To provide a network of support and entertainment for people going through, or have gone through, some sort of crisis. Your peers will be people, who at one time or other, have suffered as a result of divorce, separation, or had to deal with a death or other traumatic event that leaves them feeling alone and isolated. Who better to help than someone who has been there possibly many times and has all the tee-shirts! We are a group that cares for and supports it's Members.
What We Do
We are here to stop that feeling of being alone and helpless, to help you through the trials and tribulations of a crisis in your life and modern society. You will meet like-minded people and generate new and lasting friendships, and even do things you never thought you would do before. We have fulfilled many things on many bucket lists! We don't have an age limit. If you are old enough to get married and are still breathing you are welcome, so there is no limit.
What to Expect
We Meet at least once or twice per week, see event calendar for venues and events. We get together, chat, plan events etc. Old members greet each other and welcome new members. We chat about our day at work, social events, the latest thing in the news or any topic you like. We like to give everyone an opportunity to say something if they want to. We laugh, we agree, we disagree, we find out we have things in common, and before you know it, you have a bunch of new friends.
The first Thursday of every month, the meeting is held at a restaurant or other venue, to celebrate (with cake) any birthdays in that month, although this is on hold due to SARS Cov2.
Here are just a few examples of our varied calendar:
