We are seeking God and want to connect with people who are doing the same. For those interested in a study of the Bible, you are welcome to come meet up with us as we look at the scriptures. We are currently meeting weekly at 7 pm on Thursdays at 1310 West Church street in Elmira, NY. Check back for details about other studies! Our main goal is to find the truth in God's word, use it in our lives, and tell it to others. We want to discover truths about God, Jesus and man directly from the Bible. We're not looking for man's opinion about God or man, but rather that which is true derived from God's word.
The Bible was written by around 40 different men over a span of 1,500 years and the last book was written around 2,000 years ago, so how can this book help teach truth about God and man? The Bible says, "For I the LORD do not change" (Malachi 3:6) and "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever" (Hebrews 13:8). Therefore, what was true about God 2,000 years ago is still true today and we need to pay close attention to it.
If you are interested in letting to the word of God be your lamp to your feet in a dark world, you should join. If you have a gut feeling that you need to study your Bible more, you should join.
