This is a “go at your pace” walk beginning at Bannister Park off Fair Oaks Blvd in Fair Oaks. We'll walk out of the parking lot onto the paved trail which runs along the American River. This hike is an out'n'back for approximately 5 miles with no significant elevation change
This is a great hike for ANYBODY. Beginner's can get their feet & legs conditioned to walking mileage. People getting back into exercise can build their strength & stamina. Intermediate/Advanced hikers can polish their form, pace and breathing. EVERYBODY can work on their cardio!
Because we will all be on the same trail in both directions, anybody has the option to turn around at any time. Some will be fast and do all 5 miles, others may be slower or some might do only 2 or 3 miles. I will be taking a head count and keeping aware of each other. Come out and do what it is YOU need to do! Having a group of like-minded people to motivate you only adds to the experience! It's a beautiful walk.
Bannister Park has drinking water and toilets.
If you have a friendly dog/pet that you would like to bring along with you please do. My guy is a baby and just did his first 5 miler on 5/4/21. So now he is good to go on the walks which makes me very happy.
