What we’re about
Are you flying solo? Are you trying to parent kids through these circumstances? It can be difficult without a group of friends around you supporting you. That’s what this group is about. Some if our members are divorced. Some of our members are widowed. And some of our members were solo parents from the outset. Whatever your circumstances, join us and make friends who have been there too. We get together at least once a month for Happy Hours. We are adding other events as often as time allows.
To be clear, this is not a dating group. Dating within the group is neither encouraged nor discouraged. If that is your objective, be very careful approaching a member. Unwanted advances will lead to a warning, three such warnings, and a member may be subject to expulsion from the group without further warnings.
Because we are aiming this group to be a resource to people who are actively parenting, we are limiting our age range to those in their 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s.
If a member of this group has children living in the home, they should consider joining our sister group Solo Parents of Greater Rochester after attending an event such as our Happy Hours or Coffees. We will approve you for that group once we have met you. That group has a few events that are geared specifically for children between the ages of 6 and 18, such as Halloween Parties, Apple Picking, Christmas Parties etc. The direct link is below.
