The land we know as North America is home to more than 600 Indigenous nations speaking more than 300 languages. Boasting some of the earliest writing systems in the world, and a storytelling tradition that goes back tens of thousands of years, Indigenous nations have made invaluable contributions to world literature. In the past 75 years, native writers have been awarded multiple National Book Awards, Pulitzer Prizes, and Guggenheim and MacArthur Fellowships. Join us as we discuss historic and contemporary trends and choose our next read!

Part 1: presenter(s) provide a short overview of the pre-selected books, highlighting some of the reviews and critics and other relevant background. Members who have read any of the books can contribute.
Part 2: participants are invited to introduce any book that they would like to recommend and provide a short overview thereof (on a voluntarily basis).
Part 3: participants vote to select the book to be discussed in one of the upcoming book discussion meetings.

All we want for Christmas is... a great book from a fellow book clubber!
For the sixth year, we’re hosting a gift book exchange. Please bring a wrapped book to the meeting, where we’ll do a Secret Santa-style swap. As each book is unwrapped, feel free to share a few thoughts or hopes for the reader!
Tip: We encourage choosing a book related to a selection topic from this year that wasn’t picked for discussion. For ideas, check our 2024 slides:
