What we’re about
* Are you are looking for a heart-opening Shabbat morning experience and a way to connect with other spiritual seekers?
* Are you attracted to meditation and Eastern traditions and wonder why you haven’t found that personal connection within Jewish tradition? Wonder no more—meditation has been part of Jewish practice for centuries!
* So, if Jewish prayer practice has not touched your heart, come experience a more personal pathway using chanting and meditation, and find new personal meaning in the words of Jewish prayer.
* Repetition of a sacred phrase can clear the mind of clutter, and connect us to each other and to the Unity of all that is.
* Meditation brings a sense of inner peace and focuses attention on the present moment, the place where the Divine Presence can be experienced.
* Give yourself a taste of the peace of Shabbat & connect to your deeper spiritual self.
No prior knowledge of chanting or meditation is necessary. If you already meditate, come see what the Jewish tradition has to offer to your practice.

Breathing Personal Meaning into Words of Prayer: Enlivening and Personalizing Your Prayer Experience
Join us as we delve into selected prayers in the morning service from a heart and neshamah (soul) perspective. Engage in a variety of modalities and opportunities to find or deepen your connection to the words of prayer and personalize them to meet your deeper spiritual needs.
We will approach our “treasure hunt” in a variety of ways:
· Pausing to look inward through meditative processes;
· Referring to the Kabbalistic Four Worlds structure;
· Engaging in chant and song to connect on a heart/soul level;
· Considering a variety of translations and alternative renderings;
· Using lines of prayer as a spring-board to writing our own new associations and interpretations;
· Sharing from the heart/soul to inspire each other and to tap into our own sense of the Divine within ourselves and in the world.
FYI, this class is for seekers of all levels whether you are already familiar with the prayers or not. Materials will be provided in Hebrew, transliteration, and English.
The upcoming 4-session Wednesday morning Zoom class (10:30am EST) will begin on Nov 13, 2024 (11/13, 11/20, 12/4, and 12/11). If you are interested, please contact Marcia [email protected] OR to express interest in other future dates and different times either on Zoom or in-person in the Baltimore area.
