We will meet at the parking lot just north of Choco Bakery & Cafe at 5:45 pm and start the hiking promptly at 6:00 pm following a 15 minute social.
Fresno Canyon Trail
After learning that Fresno Canyon is actually City of Corona property, we did some exploring. It is a well-kept trail that leads from Green River up to the Cleveland National Forest. We worked with the City to get this officially designated as a trail and replaced the Private Property/No Trespassing signs with legit trail head signage!

The hike is a more strenuous than the fire road at Skyline, but not too bad. If you go far enough up the trail (a few miles) it gets very steep and challenging.
Level: Advanced Beginner-Moderate. This is a good hike for an advanced beginner to improve their hiking skill to intermediate level hikes.
Advanced beginner is someone who has the fitness level to mountain hike 1 1/2 miles up with an elevation gain of 1200 feet in 40 minutes. The descent is not as difficult. Newbies who have never hiked nor do cardio workouts at a gym with resistance WILL struggle.
If hiking this trail is too difficult for your level at this time it is OK. Turn back anytime, you can always try it again and improve next time. It is very easy to turn back and follow the trail back to your car. Failing is not trying again.
This is a conditioning hike so many hikers on this trail are in training. Members on this hike are advanced, experienced, fit and dedicated that are training for Peaks over 10000 feet in elevation.
For our Monday conditioning hike we will hike for an hour, take a 10 minute break, and then return the way we came. Because it is steeper the distance will not be too great, but it will still be a nice workout. Due to the earlier sunsets it would be a good idea to bring a headlamp or flashlight.

AFTER THE HIKE:
There is a little burger place called Copper Locks where we park, so after the hike we will grab a slice before heading home. This bit is optional, but it is always fun!
