Hello. I invite you to join me in a journey to form the definitive Meetup Group in the Philippines. I was born in Manila but have lived in the United States since childhood, and have traveled extensively, primarily in Europe. My primary business is in finance, but one of my hobbies is Meetup. I organize one of the largest Meetup Groups in Chicago, Chicago Meetup, the growth of which I managed from 107 members to over 3,000 members. I am confident that with your help, together we can build Manila Meetup into an extraordinary Meetup Group.
My vision for Manila Meetup is to be "the international Meetup Group for the new Philippines". Compared to its past as "the sick man of Asia", the new Philippines is optimistic, confident, energetic, worldly, and open. This Meetup Group captures that (see our photos). Manila Meetup is a group of expats, Filipinos, and "world citizens", with the emphasis on fun, socializing, and nightlife. My personal goal is to have a social network in the Philippines -- besides my enormous family -- as I begin to travel more often there.
Since I am based in the US and generally cannot host most Meetups myself, I will need as many enthusiastic and active Assistant Organizers as I can recruit. If you are interested in becoming an Assistant Organizer and organizing and hosting your own Meetups, please contact me.
Manila Meetup is an informal community of individuals. As with all Meetup Groups, membership in Manila Meetup is subject to the Meetup Terms of Service.
