Welcome to the Orange County Track Club, OCTC!
During the shorter daylight hours this time of the year Coach Charlie moves OCTC's Tuesday night workouts to the better lit streets and bicycle paths that the City of Costa Mesa recently refurbished along Placentia Avenue which pass in front of the Estancia High School. We meet near Fire Station 4 across the street from the Estancia High School parking lot. These bike paths nicely separate pedestrians and bicyclists from the traffic along Placentia Avenue. The street lighting is good enough for most runners, but you may want to bring a flashlight or headlamp for better visibility. Parking is available in the Estancia High School parking lot across the street from Fire Station 4.
OCTC members and friends start arriving about 6:00 PM. Coach Charlie recommends a one-mile warm-up and six 100-yard strides before the main workout which begins after a short club meeting at 6:30. The workout totals three-miles consisting of various short distances with a recovery as outlined by Charlie. The workout is followed by a one mile cool down, totaling about five miles. We’re finished by 7:00 to 8:00.
We are a low-key group of runners. Come join us for a workout and make some new friends!
Let’s run Forever!
Hope to see you soon,
Ub (Bob Szekeresh) and Bill Fritzsche
