What we’re about
Ready to take your road cycling skills and fitness to the next level, maybe train for a big ride? Want to meet people and learn new routes? Tired of riding alone and want the camaraderie of like-minded souls?
We might be just the right group for you! Some of us ride pretty fast, others...eh, not so much. We’re happy to share the ways of the road, from climbing hills to riding safely in a group. Our rides might challenge you, (or not!) but we’ll never drop you and leave you for dead. We look out for our own, it’s the BoB way.
In the winter the ride offerings get a little sparse, but that changes with the weather, so please keep an eye on the calendar and subscribe to email notifications. If you don’t see the rides you want, message me and I'll work on it. Think you might want to share your skills and lead rides? Yay! Get in touch. Just be aware that a certain level of experience is required.
Here are the basics: RSVP so the Ride Leaders know that you are coming and CANCEL if you change your mind; we don’t like no-shows. Arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride starts. If the group is ready to roll on time, it will do just that. Have the right size spare tube and pump to take with you on the ride even if you don't know how to use them. Contact me if you have questions about equipment
Make sure to have the ride leader’s contact info with you. It could help if you have a problem on the road.
Finally, fully read the ride descriptions! We have a truth in advertising policy: what you see is just what you’ll get. Call or email the Ride Leader before the ride if you have questions or concerns.
We are here to help make it fun!

Route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/49037646
Current forecast is for most of the ride to be in the mid-to-high 40s with the sun emerging during the second half of the ride, so layer up.We'll follow the sun to Mt. Angel, warming up on the flats before taking on some climbing up a series of ascending hills with panoramic vistas. A final push up Fox Road gets us up to Victor Point. Then we'll descend and hairpin in and out of Silverton, following the Petal Pedal route up and down the Abiqua river before returning to Mt. Angel. Ride will proceed with flexibility for weather, mechanical, and group.
As usual, a no-drop ride, we'll regroup at the top of hills.
Water/Bathroom stop in Silverton if needed.Roll out from Benedictine Brewery at 10 am.
Speedy Intermediate. Not a beginner ride. Nor is it a racing ride. Good climbing at a steady pace, maintaining climbing legs.
Ebikes welcome as long as you hang with the group.Route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/49037646
Option of adding 1 mile and 200' at the end by climbing up to the Abbey on the return.13-16 mph average pace for this no-drop ride (your average pace for flatter rides should be more than this). We'll regroup at the top of hills and a couple of other places. Climb at your own pace. Bring a layer for fun times cruising down. Guidelines for this ride are: safety, flexibility, communication.
Everyone must have a copy of the route on their device, printed out, or in their head. If you decide to give it a try and maybe cut out early you need to be able to find your way back to the start.
You'll enjoy this ride if: you enjoy speeding along on the flats interspersed with short climbs, scenic vistas, and want to still have time to do other things later in the day. Or, you want to train or stay in shape for harder rides.
