I just got back from Minneapolis, Minnesota and Killeen Texas where I mentored two new investors, one on one, for 3 days each.
What a way to jump start your business! Have someone, with a few hundred flips completed, mentor you in person!
Terri and I started investing in 2004 with ZERO dollars. Talk about stressful!
In 2004 our first purchase were 3 houses on two adjacent lots. We could hardly sleep after ageeing to buy them. What if we couldn't get the money we needed? What if we couldn't make the monthly payment? There were a bunch of "what ifs" but we muddled through with the help of our real estate guru. Not an in person relationship but seminar after seminar.
That was April 2004. In May 2004 we bought another house. No sleep again for a couple of weeks. By 2007 we had done 50 deals!
The first deal was SCARY! We went home that night and said "we just bought 3 houses"! It was monumental. Our first deal! It came from a bird dog and had an owner financing component attached.
Now days I come home and mention to Terri, "oh, by the way, I bought 3,4,5 houses today. It is now old hat persay.

Most of you know that Terri and I, have spent and continue to spend big money on our education. We constantly travel the country gathering knowledge and insight to add to our arsenal. I was recently asked by a new investor why we would want to help other local investors to get there businesses off the ground. His point was that this would create competition and thought that we were shooting ourselves in the foot, so to speak. We feel totally the opposite. There are plenty of deals out there. We don't need them all. As part of our mentors training, one of the first thing we teach our clients, is to contact other investors and ask "how can we make money together"? So let's do just that!!!! Let's make money together in 2024!
