Details
This is NOT an in-person event.
These Exercise Guides are intended to assist and encourage exploration of parks and natural areas in the Huron Valley Group region. Please enjoy them on your own or, using appropriate social distancing and masks, with others.
North Bay Park in Ypsilanti is focused on Ford Lake. It has a very cool boardwalk along the southwest side of the bay with an observation tower, then a series of arched bridges take you from island to island to the north side of the bay. Expect to see water lilies, turtles, barn swallows, and waterfowl along the way.
The trail is an easy 2.7 miles if you do the entire route, including the out and back across the north side of the bay. We typically do the park as a counter-clockwise loop around the bay, then out-and-back across the north side before heading back up to the parking lot.
This is an urban park, adjacent to I-94, but don't let that deter you from visiting.
