The Edinburgh Photography Meetup Group

This afternoon we'll visit the Christmas Market. This is an alternative event to the evening outing which doesn't suit everyone. We will meet on Princes Street on the steps to the RSA building at the foot of the Mound. The theme is red (or another colour of your choice). Aim to make photos which reflect the festive season and which feature the colour red. Afterwards we'll meet up for drinks and chat at Milne's Bar in Hannover Street.

Evening Photowalk - Christmas Lights and Light Trails

Edinburgh's Christmas starts in the middle of November so this evening Meetup will enable us to take advantage of some of the lights and sights around the gardens and the city centre.

We'll start outside the New College on the mound, take in some of the High Street and down Cockburn Street towards the gardens. I'll take a look at the programme before the Meetup to find out what is on and where a good route will be. Once we've got that sorted we can agree a pub for a drink afterwards.

The theme of this week's session is photo courses/workshops. Neil Patton is going to introduce the theme by talking about his experiences on courses with Colin Prior. After his talk there will be a broader discussion: which courses have you taken part in (online and in person), which have you enjoyed and are there any you can recommend?
For the second part of the meeting Claudine will lead a review of the past year's events. What have you enjoyed or not enjoyed and what would you like to see planned in the coming year? Volunteers needed!

Black and white street

Shift your settings to black and white and let’s capture some street and architecture in the New Town, Broughton and Leith Walk.

Meet outside the Scottish National Portrait Gallery on Queen Street and we will head off from there. Once we are finished we can have a drink in the Joseph Pearce at the top of the walk.
