This is the official Meetup site for the Central Oklahoma Theosophical Study Center of the Theosophical Society in America. We are a diverse group of students of Theosophy. The Study Center meets every Wednesday at the Unity Spiritual Life Center for readings of the teachings, followed by Q&A and discussion. Our Theosophical discussions commonly include subjects like reincarnation and karma, universal brotherhood, great teachers and masters of wisdom, the nature of the soul, comparative religion, laws of science and nature, the origins of man and the cosmos, and more. Donations for our events are accepted but not required.
The term "Theosophy" comes from the Greek theosophia, which is composed of two words: theos ("god," "gods," or "divine") and sophia ("wisdom"). Theosophia, therefore, may be translated as the "wisdom of the gods," "wisdom in things divine," or "divine wisdom." The intellectual study and daily practice of Theosophy is only a means to reach the real theosophia, or inner enlightenment. As we become more mindful of this, we open the door to a flash of insight which comes from the part of us that is Divine. The process of becoming more and more receptive to these theosophical insights is the spiritual path.
