Racquetball is a great sport for getting your heart pumping and working on your coordination. This is personally my favorite sport and I enjoy it for the exercise.

Note:

DO NOT sign up for this if you will not commit to coming. Unlike most meetups, only a few people can play racquetball at one time. Not showing up can break a session when one assumes that "Well, other people will be there." I have had people sign up and I am the only one that shows....

While my normal attendance policy is more forgiving, no shows will be removed immediately from the group for Racquetball, as there is a cost involved.

Background:
If you want to learn how to play, you are welcome to join me. If you are experienced, all the better. I have no problem working with beginners, as it might instill an appreciation for the game, but be ready to learn. Don't worry, it's not that complicated, but there can be strategy. I will adjust my competitiveness as needed.

If you are a beginner, let me know as there is a chance of injury. Aggressiveness will be discouraged as it can injure other players. This is supposed to be a fun, friendly session!

Cost:

If you are not a Herndon Resident, it is $8 for entry. You will have access to the facility for the day. You can also buy a package of passes, for a reduced rate, if you find you like the Meetup (info on rates below at link).

The court fee is an additional $4 an hour (during prime hours, which the meetup is during). As the Meetup is 2 hours the 8 dollar fee will be split up among all participants.

Equipment:

The facility or another player may loan you a racquet, but you MUST bring your own eye gear. I won't allow you to play if you do not wear eye gear. You can buy a pair from Amazon for $10.

The racquetball courts are in the back of the building, past the view of the pool.

Numbers of players:

Racquetball can be played with 2-4 players, but I prefer only 2 or 3 at most. I am keeping this meetup small, to reflect that, hence the request for a firm commitment, if you RSVP.

The court will be reserved to two hours so, we can alternate, if necessary and based on committed responses, I may ask one of you to reserve another court (no cost involved), as only one person can reserve one court.

Please let me know if you have any questions. If you plan to show up at a time other than what's posted, let me know and I may be able to adjust the number of members allowed to RSVP to accomodate a larger number.
