Brighton Beach Bound: Bold Hiking Adventure

Event description

Join us for an invigorating day hike from the historic town of Lewes to the vibrant city of Brighton, ending at the iconic Brighton Beach. This scenic 12KM + 6KM trail takes you through the picturesque South Downs National Park, offering stunning views and a variety of landscapes along the way.

WHAT TO EXPECT - HIKING INFO
Distance: 12KM + posibly around 6KM in town
Ascent: c.250 metres
Estimated Duration (approx): 3.5 hours walking depending upon the speed of the group and excluding any breaks.
Difficulty: Moderate

PROGRAMME
Assembly Time: 08:00
Move to the departure platform at 08:30
The train departs at 08:54
The train arrives at 09:56
Meeting Point: Victoria Station. We will assemble close to the Ticket Machines and the main ticket office.
We will aim for the 17:20 or earlier train from Brighton back to Victoria for 18:28.

COST

• The cost for the hike and train travel is £30 per person. The PayPal payment option is automatically set to the Hike & Train option.
• Use the 'NOTRAIN' promo code to pay £10 for hike only ticket and meet us at Lewes station (or travel with us of course, the more the merrier)
• Please supply your Whatsapp number at check out, for both the WhatsApp group for the day, and a WhatsApp announcements group where I publish future events
  A few times a year (which can be opted out of by leaving at any time)

• Guided Hike planned and led by experienced AAA leaders, trained Summer Mountain Leader with Wilderness First Aid Training.

• Travel costs
• Lunch, drinks or any refreshments
• Souvenirs
• Meetup Fee levied on all purchases via meetup
• Entrance fees to any attractions you wish to visit

RECOMMENDED KIT LIST (full list)

• Suitable hiking shoes or boots
• Waterproof jacket and trousers (Please no jeans!)
• Water [2L recommended]
• Warm/Windproof layer, e.g. Down/Primaloft/Fleece
• Wicking base layer, e.g. Polyester/Tencil/Merino
• Camera & Phone
• Picnic lunch and snacks

CANCELLING/REFUNDS
Please update your RSVP to say ‘No’ if your plans change. Others can then take advantage of the newly available place.
If the hike is full, please email [email protected] after the event and request a refund, less the PayPal/Meetup fees. You must provide your email for the PayPal account and transaction reference.
