Bescy [ADN] November 2024 : Is the modern day hiring process Broken?

Do you enjoy the modern day job search? If you answered no or some form of no, this talk may be of interest to you. If you answered yes, please come so we can learn from you!

In this talk, we will discuss as a community what can and should be done to enrich the job search experience. Whether you are actively looking, thinking about it or are just curious to be prepared in the event of an unexpected lay off, let's come together as a community to discuss something each and everyone of us experiences at least once in our lifetime.

This will be a brainstorming talk where we will be sharing our respective experiences and supporting one another with a little guided facilitation.

About the presenter:

Jose Garcia is passionate about navigating the complexities of the workforce. He found his way into behavioral science after a circuitous journey that began in computer programming. From programing, he moved into hardware, but after several internships and research projects, he realized the field wasn’t the right fit. He then pivoted, earning a combined Bachelor's and Master’s in Organizational Behavior. Graduating during an economic downturn proved to be an uphill battle in securing a stable career, but these experiences fortified Jose's resilience and deepened his understanding of navigating challenging career landscapes.
