Are you an advanced songwriter in the RVA area? Join our Meetup group to connect with other serious writers who share your interests. Whether you're looking for inspiration, feedback, or collaboration opportunities, this is the perfect space to elevate your songwriting skills and expand your musical network. Let's come together to create, share, and celebrate our love for music. The style of music would be singer/songwriter, Rock, Pop, Folk and any variation/mixture thereof.
What is an advanced songwriter? For the purpose of this group you are one if you have done one or more of these things:
- Released an album of original music
- Have/have had a a record or publishing deal
- Have had placements in Film/TV
- Had a cut with an artist
I would consider this group a success if we end up with 4 writers who meet regularly. If we end up with more we'll call that a good problem to have :-).
If only a few people attend an event we could use it as a co-writing session. If more than 3 attend then we can turn it into more of a feedback session. Once 3 people sign up to the group I'll start creating events. For example: every first and 3rd Monday from 7-9 PM.
About me: I'm a semi-pro songwriter (ex BMG Recording Artist with current Publishing Administrator Deal, Film and TV Placements) who just moved to Richmond in July 2024. Some of you may recognize my name as the son/manager of Sibylle Baier. I don't know many people here in Richmond yet. Depending on how much interest this posting receives, the first few meet-ups can either happen at my residence in Carytown and/or, as the group grows, in a some kind of musical space. If any of you have an idea on where to meet please let me know.
