Adventure Solos' Borwick Hall Weekend is a social, fun activity weekend that allows you to try new activities and meet new people on this solo-friendly weekend.

From canoeing (paddle to the pub), archery and a ropes course, to a hike in this designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - this weekend is a great way to get outdoors, make new friends and have a good wholesome laugh!

This walk starts and ends in walk, and we pop by the Gingerbread Shop to stock up before the walk ends at an iconic Lake District pub in town.

The Gingerbread shop in walk is a must-stop shop in the Lake District.
​The walk is around 5 miles (8km) and ascends up Lord Crag to give us views over Grasmere and Rydal Water.
The walk takes around 4 hours.

We walk at a steady pace for this hike; a moderate level of fitness will suffice. ​​

We meet at Oxenholme Lake District Station, on the edge of Kendal.
Oxenholme is in the countryside yet arguably has the best connected station in the UK, with fantastic direct train services to Manchester, London, Glasgow, Edinburgh and other towns and cities.

This is nice and flat and takes us along the River Kent. There are various options (and great names) for stops, including The Station Inn, Sizergh Castle and Low Barn, Nannypie Lane and Sedgewick.​
​
This 8 mile (12km) walk takes approximately 4.25 hours. The route is relatively flat and easy; perfect for a winter's day.
​​
We walk at a slow / steady pace for this hike, only a low / moderate level of fitness is required.
​​
The event starts at Oxenholme Station Car Park and ends at The Station Inn (a couple of minute's walk from the train station), where we also pop in for a chat and drink at the end of the walk.

Join this mini-break with lovely countryside walks, crisp air, and meeting some great like-minded people.

Various drinks and m​eals are provided throughout the event, as well as accommodation, and walk leader(s). You'll have an Adventure Solos host (usually Chris) present throughout the event to make you feel welcome.

The core event is for two nights, from Monday 30th December to Wednesday 1st January, however we are pleased to be able to offer an additional night until Thursday 2nd January as an option also, with an additional walk
