THE HIKE

If the weather conditions at the top of the mountain allows, we will hike to the highest point in mainland Spain, the Mulhacen Peak at 3447 metres high.

Instead of hiking from the foot of the mountain which requires 3 days just to climb, while carrying camping equipment, we will drive closer to the top and walk up the rest.

This is a very tough hike with very steep climbing up and down so you must be fit enough and have done something similar in the past.

At this altitude you will be feeling super tired and might have some headaches because of less oxygen, but elevation sickness is only likely beyond 3500 metres.

If this hike doesn’t happen because of safety concerns, we will stay closer to the foot of the mountain still climbing around 800 metres.
