Epping Forest North Walk London by Adventure Solos

Epping Forest, London's largest open space, is a former Royal Forest. It covers over 6,000 acres of land, with 50,000 ancient tress and over 100 lakes and ponds.

The Central Line to Epping Underground Station makes for easy access from London. From there, this 9 mile (14km) walk takes us through the heart of the forest, dominated by beach and oak trees, to High Beach viewpoint.

On the edge of the forest we visit a beautiful pub ordained with hanging baskets and handy beer garden for a refreshing drink and chat, before ending the walk at Loughton Tube Station (also on the Central Line).

The walk is relatively flat; there are no major hills to ascend or descend. The walk will take around 4.5 hours plus approximately 1 hour visit to the beer garden (soft drinks are available).

We walk at a steady pace for this hike; a low/moderate level of fitness will suffice.
