9 Mile Van Cortlandt Park Hike in the Bronx

We will be doing a loop and finishing where we start, at the 242nd St stop (Van Cortlandt Station) on the "1" train. We will be meeting on the sidewalk on the southeast stairwell from the station.

There are no vaccine or masking requirements for this hike or the dinner afterward.

At the end, we'll be within sight of the 242nd St stop, and people can take the "1" train home while those interested can have dinner at an affordable restaurant that will do separate checks. We should be reaching the restaurant around 4:00pm, the sun will set at 4:41pm.

Have a light lunch before the hike so that you will have room for an early dinner.

You MUST keep up with the group! If you straggle behind and get lost, it will be very hard to navigate and you could easily wind up walking 5 miles before you find a subway.

At one point, we will be going 7 miles between bathroom breaks. There are bushes along the way.
