What we’re about
Welcome to our study group! Agitate is a new political organisation which stands for direct democracy, people before profit and sustainable living in harmony with the planet. Our outlook is underpinned by the egalitarian political philosophy known as Communalism. In other words, we believe in people power and cooperative economics.
As seeds of our new movement, our study circles are spaces for learning, open discussion and mutual solidarity. Whether you're already familiar with Communalism or want to find out more, all are welcome! No prior knowledge is needed! We aim to create an open and inclusive environment where you can connect with like-minded people, ask questions, and engage in discussions at your own pace.
We gather regularly for guided study sessions, where we explore themes like direct democracy, social ecology, and the philosophy of Communalism, inspired by thinkers such as Murray Bookchin. Each session is designed to be approachable, welcoming anyone interested. We're big believers in radical hospitality. After each session we go to a nearby pub so we can get to know one another a bit better.
