Big blockbusters aside, I deride even more pleasure from watching the cinematic train-wrecks that perplex me as to how they even came to be. Welcome to the SIXTY FOURTH installment of Craptacular Cinema, where your wildest dreams and expectations about "entertainment" will most likely be destroyed in an instant. On SATURDAY, November 16th, he's back and weirder than ever... Nic Cage, in the house! It's that time of year again where we watch a pair of his movies. On tap this year, it's "Jiu Jitsu" and "Willy's Wonderland"!

Is science fiction, martial arts, and Nic Cage a good combo? Let's find out -- "Jiu Jitsu" is a 2020 film, in which the true invader wasn't an illness but ALIENS. The earth calls upon Jiu Jitsu warriors to fight them off every six years, and things are extra bad this time around. From what I hear, this bomb of a film was only able to pay out a fraction of the money to Nic Cage that they owed him. The movie is tone deaf, sloppy, and apparently feels more like a joke than a movie. "Willy's Wonderland" is a movie I have only heard bad things about... until Justin and Faye insist that we watch it. Of course, they conveniently say this and migrate back to Columbus while they said this. I think them giving me a DVD copy of "Abraxis" was to cover their tracks here. ANYWAY, I digress... this movie is basically a mute Nic Cage playing Five Night At Freddy's, from what I gather looking at the cover. He is a janitor at a condemned locale, and things are about to get crazy. It is likely going to be more comedic than not, so if you enjoy that flavor of your low budget schlocky movie you have come to the right place. 5.5/10 on IMDB means this movie is favorable among viewers overall. These are R-rated affairs, mostly with cartoonish violence, some sword play, and a healthy dose of Nic.

**Can you hear it in the air? Nope, those aren't sleigh bells, that's just the jangly clangy jewelry of Deuandra Claus shifting around on top of the roof... She's coming next month, and you better not let her come in through the chimney.**

I live in Broadview Heights, which is a few exits off of I-77, just past I-480 headed southbound. For you Lakewood folks, it's about a 20-25 minute drive, 30-35 minutes for Akron peeps, and maybe 40-45 for the far East siders. Parking: There is plenty of it here! You can park in the first driveway on the right of the complex (Lot A). Cross the main driveway, and my apartment is on the patio level (look for the small sets of beige-colored hard plastic fencing). I will post a sign on my little fenced area to signify where to come in.
