What we’re about
This is a group for COVID Conscious/COVID Safe people in the Albany, NY area looking to connect with others with the same values. This group is primarily Zoom-based, but we also organize in-person COVID-safe meetups on occasion. If you are not in the Albany area, feel free to join our group and attend our virtual events so you can meet other COVID Conscious individuals and socialize.
What does "COVID Conscious" mean? - COVID Conscious/COVID Safe means that you are aware that COVID is still a major health crisis, especially for those who are vulnerable/at-risk or members of marginalized communities. A COVID Conscious person takes personal safety measures such as wearing a mask in public, social distancing and limiting exposure to those who do not take precautions in order to lower the risk of contracting and spreading COVID.
GROUP RULES -
* There is a zero-tolerance policy for supremacy culture (white supremacy, health supremacy, etc.), bullying, harassment, homophobia, transphobia and any -isms (racism, ableism, sexism, ageism, etc.). You may be asked to leave the group if you display any of these behaviors via Zoom or in-person.
*If you want to invite someone to be in this group, they MUST request to be a member via Meetup.com and fill out the questionnaire completely in order to be considered for membership to the group. Membership is not guaranteed.
*Group members agree to be honest about the mitigations and precautions that they take.
*Do not attend in-person meetups if you feel ill or have been having symptoms of an illness within the last 10 days.
* Every in-person meetup will be notated whether masks are required or optional. You agree to wear a mask for any in-person event where it is required.
