Make a Difference: Join Us for a Holiday Meal Service at the City Mission
Details
Albany Travel Society Members,
As seasoned travelers, we've witnessed the global issue of homelessness firsthand. We've seen the stark realities of poverty and displacement in cities around the world. It's a problem that transcends borders, affecting millions.
This holiday season, let's bring that global awareness back home to our local Albany, Upstate area. By volunteering at the City Mission homeless shelter, we can directly address the local impact of this global issue. We can:
- Connect with our community: Engage with individuals facing challenges and contribute to a more compassionate Schenectady.
- Gain a new perspective: Understand the needs of those in our own backyard and the systemic issues that contribute to homelessness.
- Inspire future travels: Learn about the social and economic factors that shape different communities and inform our future travels with empathy.
This local service opportunity aligns perfectly with our shared passion for travel and human connection. Let's make a difference, both near and far. Together, we can create a lasting impact on our community.
So, we're excited to announce that our society has been selected to volunteer with the Schenectady City Mission and we will be serving dinner to their homeless community, a truly rewarding experience.
