Members and guest(s) of all levels of experience are strongly encouraged to attend.
Contact the Fishmaster if you or your guest(s) would like to request instruction or loaner equipment at least a week prior to the outing.
Be courteous and change your RSVP to “Not Attending” if you are unable to attend the outing so that we are not waiting for you. You can also contact and inform the Fishmaster or another attending member. For safety reasons let the Fishmaster or another attending member know if you leave an outing early. Otherwise, we will be searching for you at the end of the outing.
We will be fishing for Steelhead and Rainbow Trout below the Camanche Dam in the Mokelumne River Day Use Area east of Clements. This is a walk and wade trip. The wading is easy to difficult depending on flows.
Make sure you have your 2025 Steelhead Report Card and fishing License.
We will meet at the first parking lot on the left of the entrance.

5-7 wt rods
Floating or sink tip fly line
3x to 4x tippet
Indicator & split shot
Flies
Most Rainbow trout nymphs, streamers and egg patterns work. Nymphing is the most productive. Streamers will also work.
Also, bring a lunch. We will meet back at the parking lot around noon to take a break and share stories.
