URBAN HIKE IN FORT GREENE WITH ITS GREAT PARK, ART, BROWNSTONES AND HISTORY

Details

Fort Greene in Brooklyn is one of those neighborhoods that really has it all. It has some of the finest blocks in the Brownstone belt, a scenic park with historical significance and many art venues. We will experience all of these things on this urban hike, which ends on DeKalb Avenue by the subway station, the newly reopened legendary Brooklyn Paramount, and Juniors Restaurant, where you can have one of their world famous cheesecakes.

This hike is joint with Outdoors Club Inc., and you need to be on only one Club's going list. Please consider that this urban hike is not suitable for slow walkers who may not be able to keep up or stay with the group. We will walk at a steady, brisk pace over a distance of around 4 miles, stopping at places of interest. There will be no lunch stop, so bring some snacks along if you wish. (This hike is intended for adults 18 years and older and please no dogs).

Precipitation, as well as potentially unsafe ground conditions from ice or snow, or even questionable forecast may cancel, postpone or modify; check website for latest updates. To get to the meeting spot, take one of many subways to Atlantic Avenue Barclays Center Station. Meet in front of the Guitar Center, 139 Flatbush Avenue, on the Atlantic Terminal Mall plaza across from the Barclays Center at 12:30 PM.
