Community Yoga on the Green Lawn (Free and Open to All)
Details
Gentle yoga session offered on the community lawn among trees in the peaceful and tranquil setting of Ananda Community. All are welcome!
(Please note: We have moved the location of the class indoors for the whole winter. We will be back on the lawn again starting early summer.)
Ananda Yoga brings yoga back to its original spiritual essence. Physical exercise and stress relief are only the beginning benefits of yoga; the higher purpose of Ananda Yoga is to uplift one's consciousness.
In this session, you will work with physical asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing and energy-control techniques), yogic meditation techniques, and learn how to apply yoga philosophy in your daily lives.
In this Yoga practice we will emphasize
- Safety, correct posture and alignment
- Being calm and relaxed in the midst of effort
- Working directly with subtle energy through yoga postures
- Using the power of the mind and affirmations to increase and direct the flow of subtle energy in our bodies
- Adaptation – modifying each yoga posture to fit the needs and abilities of each practitioner
Yoga mats and all props will be provided. Wear comfortable clothes suitable for Yoga practice. Bring a water bottle. No need to bring anything else.
How to find us:
Walk in to the Ananda community and arrive on the green area covered with trees and the lawn and look for directions to the community meditation temple. The Yoga class is held at the meditation temple in winter due to the cold weather. If you are coming here for the first time, please arrive 10 minutes early to find the right location within the community for this class.
This is a free class, open to all. Donations are welcome to support the Ananda community and Ananda yoga ministry.
Every week on Sunday until April 1, 2025
