Complex PTSD Narcissism Trauma Peer Support Group

Details

Welcome to our online 🌼Weekly 👨‍👩‍👧‍👧Peer Support Group👨‍👩‍👦‍👦 for those with Abuse, C-PTSD, or Trauma-related issues who are interested in sharing, processing, and learning. We focus on topics centered around Holistic Health & Wellness & Recovery which are most relevant to the attendees of each group; we may watch some videos, share our experiences, ask questions, and also share what is working for us to help improve our symptoms.

Recovery can be defined as, "A process of change through which individuals work to improve their own health and wellness, to live a Self-directed life, and to reach their full potential."

✨👼✨ Zayne Angellic is a Nationally Certified Peer Specialist who also is available for personal coaching. WHAT IS DISCUSSED IN THIS GROUP STAYS IN THIS GROUP!

Please respect everyone's privacy and 'leave it at the door.' Please help us to make this a SAFE SPACE where everyone may feel comfortable to open up and share. Remember that we are all here seeking to recover and heal, so please be respectful of others privacy when they share. Be sure to get the Zoom meeting link when you RSVP.

  • Gabor Mate explains here why your Medical Doctor cannot help you with Complex-PTSD: Gabor Mate Clip YouTube or https://youtu.be/nwHpK3Jsr3U?t=1685
  • Please, while sharing, turn on your camera and microphone in order to be SEEN & HEARD in this group...no one is here to judge you!

NO ONE in this group is ever giving medical advice. NO ONE in here is a Licensed Doctor or Counselor, and we hope that you see yours regularly! We are simply a Peer Support Group who mine our own personal knowledge and experiences for suggestions that someone else may also resonate with.

Please use your Best-Judgement and Responsible Decision Making before following anyone's advice!

How Complex Trauma and C-PTSD symptoms commonly affect us:

When as children we are targeted with – or witness to – emotional or verbal abuse, physical or sexual abuse, neglect or abandonment, we lose our real self – that trusting, free, creative self we were born to be. Instead, to survive and cope in our family, that real self goes into hiding, and an outer or adaptive self takes over and creates a life of people-pleasing, caretaking, and codependency, or isolation and avoidance.

We go into “survival mode” and:

  • lose touch with our real needs and real feelings
  • experience depression, anxiety, and chronic stress
  • feel like we don’t really belong
  • live lives of “quiet desperation” or act out in destructive ways
  • aren’t able to set healthy boundaries
  • don’t take care of ourselves in relation to others

In this survival mode, we lose the ability to feel grounded and present in the moment and have difficulty making decisions or feeling connected to a sense of inner guidance, purpose, and wholeness. Our creativity, spontaneity, and natural joy are impaired. Our skill in building and sustaining nurturing relationships is often seriously affected.

In this group we will be discussing natural and holistic health care topics to aid us in our recovery process to overcome these types of chronic issues:

  • Feeling disconnected, isolated, or ashamed
  • Afraid to be your real self and afraid to make mistakes
  • Feeling defective, flawed, empty, lonely, or inadequate
  • Constantly seeking to control others or yourself
  • Feeling unable to create the life you want
  • Finding yourself in unsatisfying or unhealthy relationships, sacrificing your own needs to meet the needs of others, or being unable to sustain lasting intimate relationships
  • Suffering from an inability to enjoy life fully on a daily basis
  • Missing a sense of inner peace or connection with spirituality
