The next meetup will be an open and reflective discussion on How Arabs deal with physical, mental & developmental disabilities and impairments.
** This venue has step free access on entrance and through a lift to the first floor where we will be seated. If you have any other reasonable adjustments please let me know in advance and I'll try my best to accommodate.**
The meetup gang is full of a variety of individuals from different countries, so it's going to be a lively discussion.
By disabilities, this could mean anything across physical, intellectual (e.g. down syndrome) developmental (e.g. autism), behavioural (e.g. ADHD) and mental impairments (e.g. anxiety).
Potential topics of discussion:
- What experience have we had with impairments in our lives (ourselves, our family, our friends and further into our worlds?
- How have Arabs traditionally treated people with these impairments? Has this changed here or back home?
GROUND RULES:
This is a nice gentle, but thought-provoking, discussion.
It's a judgement-free zone where people can air their thoughts on particular issues, and find out about other people's similar and different perspectives.
So bring your best opinions and ideas. Everyone is welcome.
LOCATION:
We will meet in the 1st floor area of Coffee Island Edgware Road.
There's plenty of space ποΈ, and coffee β, tea β cold drinks, and snacks are available.
