Art and Enjoyment in Porto: art for beginners, Series Two.

Please think carefully about signing up. There are only ten spaces, but one is the organiser and one is the teacher. Recently several (new) people have signed up and not turned up. At the last event we had four people who were unable to attend a the limit can not be exceeded. Several regulars have suggested prepaying would minimise this. At this stage we are reluctant to do this, but we do ask for your consideration.

Whether you are on holiday and want to make your own art work as a souvenir, or you live in Porto - this class is for you!

It is geared towards people with no experience with painting and want to try. You will have fun and gain basic information in order to paint your own art work.

For this session we will be working with acrylic paint to develop your own artwork using landscape techniques. It will be two hours starting at 16:00 (No problem if you stay a bit longer in order to finalise the art work you will take home. Some people also elected to return to a future session and keep working on the same painting).

The session will explore the notions of colours and composition. You will develop a work where you will be practicing and getting knowledge of the structures that enable you to create more art work in the future.

You will start exploring:

textures (using a variety of materials such as aluminium foil, plastic, sponges, cotton wool buds and traditional brushes),

mixing colours (primary and secondary to create your own colours),

and notions of composition (to develop a sense of perspective with a bi dimensional effect).

Each class is stand alone and you do not need to attend the previous classes to join.

16.50 Euro fee plus 3.50 Euro for materials (all are supplied). Please pay the fee when you arrive. If you sign up please let me know if you are not coming.
