On this walk, we will uncover the cultural code of Portugal through the art of azulejos. Our itinerary will include not only Porto's iconic locations, such as the Bank of Materials, Igreja do Carmo, and Capela das Almas, but also true "hidden gems" that you are unlikely to find on your own or with guidebooks. We will definitely visit the Se Cathedral, which houses unique 18th-century azulejos, and we will also explore modern ceramic panels from the 20th and 21st centuries, discussing how this art has evolved in Portugal over the centuries.

We'll explore Porto's beautiful examples of Art Nouveau and Art Deco, discover their connections to the Belle Époque in France and the glamour of the Great Gatsby era, and learn why so much of this stunning architecture we can find in Portugal.

We’ll also visit a historic 1930s café and uncover some of the most fascinating chapters of early 20th-century Portuguese history!
This walk will allow you to see Porto from a new and unique perspective and fall in love with the city all over again.
