What we’re about
Astoria Runners is about building community through a shared love of running. We organize weekly runs, group participation in organized races, and other activities.
Our primary run is a 5k / 3-ish mile run on Wednesday evenings in Astoria Park and along the East River. Our pace is generally around 9:30-10:30 min miles. However, all levels of experience and all paces are welcome. We pause at the halfway point and make sure no one is left behind.
Our weekend runs are 6-13 miles at a 9:30-10:30 pace, and pace varies based on the runners present. Meeting points throughout long run routes ensure folks can choose their own speed and stay with the group. Walking intervals are frequently employed at long runs. Weekend runs will switch from Saturday to Sunday every three months.
We meet at the benches in front of the restrooms by the Astoria Park Track.
NOTE: While running is fun and rewarding, it is not without risk. When you agree to attend a run, you are certifying that you are responsible for your own actions, and you release and discharge Astoria Runners of any liability for any injury or bodily harm that may occur.

South along the East River--around Hallet's Point and down Vernon Boulevard, then around the northern half of Roosevelt Island--to the Lighthouse, and back toward the Astoria Park Track.EVERYONE IS WELCOME - NO RUNNER LEFT BEHIND!
Folks are encouraged to go their own speed and/or to modify the route to meet their goals and needs.PACE | Typical pace is 9:00 - 11:00 min/mile, and varies based on the runners present. Where possible, meeting points throughout the route and pace leaders will help folks of different speeds follow the route and stay with the group. Walking intervals are frequently employed at long runs.

- While we aim to leave no runner behind, each of us is ultimately responsible for ourselves. Make sure you have access to the route map in case you get separated from the group.
- WEDNESDAY Evening Run @7PM - 3ish milesAstoria Park Track , Astoria, NY
JOIN FOR A 3.1 MILE RUN starting at Astoria Park, going north along the East River, then east on 20th Avenue to the halfway point at 31 Street / Ditmars Boulevard. We’ll regroup there and go back the way we came.

EVERYONE IS WELCOME - NO RUNNER LEFT BEHIND!
Folks are encouraged to go their own speed and/or to modify the route to meet their goals and needs. Runners are welcome to peel off at any point for a shorter distance.PACE | Typical paces for this run are 9:00 - 11:00 min/mile (on a treadmill that's around 6.7 - 5.4 mph); and pace varies based on the runners present. Where possible, pace leaders will help folks of different speeds follow the route and stay with the group. A meeting point halfway throughout the route also allows runners of different paces to meet one another and follow the route.
