Winter sports #2 🏂⛷ - Snowy 2025 edition ❄️

For lovers of winter & snow! ❄️ Let's celebrate the dawn of 2025 with a trip in a nearby ski resort, (either in Araxova or in Kalavrita)! 🏂⛷

Assuming fresh snow and relative good weather (otherwise it's not really worth it), we can go for either a:
1-day trip (= we depart early in the morning, return early at night)
OR
go for a 2-day trip (= we depart early in the morning, spend the night in the nearby village (Araxova / Kalavrita etc), then begin our journey back home the next day in the afternoon / early night - from a quick search I did right now, there are some nice, cheap airbnb choices - feel free to look yourself if this option interests you).

❗️ Some physical endurance is expected and required.

IMPORTANT: The date is just a template date (since MeetUp does not allow me to not put a date on an event). The actual date will be decided later and will be based on:

1. Weather (we need fresh snow prior to our trip or else we'll face lots of bad quality snow (= ice) - bonus: To also have sunny weather the day of our trip. More info: snow report for Kalavrita, snow report for Arachova )
2. Group preferences! Do we want to go on Saturday? Sunday? Perhaps weekday (by taking that day off work)? All members interested in this event will discuss this within ourselves and come to a decision prior to this trip.

Costs:
Gas:
Expect a cost of 60€ per car, round trip, thus expect 15-20€/person.

Ski resort daily pass:
Based on this link, the price seems to be at 20€ per person.

Equipment rental:
TBA. Don't know yet. Will contact them soon and update accordingly.

HOW THIS EVENT WILL UNFOLD:
Step 1:
You declare your interest by pressing the "Attend" button.
Step 2:
Some time during the start of January, those interested in the event will have a discussion about how we want this event to unfold (1-day or 2-day trip, preferred dates (this of course is heavily influenced by the weather), etc.
Step 3:
Event time! We'll gather in our agreed starting point and depart, as planned. More details will be discussed with those that have declared their interest.

NOTE #1:
The default version of this event is the 1-day trip.
In case the majority actually prefers the 2-day version, this, of course, is not mandatory for anyone that wishes to depart in the 1st day. Those that prefer the 1-day version can leave with their own car and if none is available, there is the option of public transportation. Individual costs will be divided among all attendees! So, even if 1 car departs with only 2 members inside, the cost will be shared will everyone.

NOTE #2:
Since I'm publishing this event WAY ahead of time ( 13/9/2024 🤡), if you're interested in general but are not sure you actually want to attend, you have the option of... pressing the "Attend" button!
