What we’re about
Atlanta Volleyball Meetup group's PURPOSE: Play volleyball on sand, grass, and indoor courts throughout Metro Atlanta, meet other local volleyball players, make new friends and teammates and build the sport of volleyball in Atlanta.
We welcome Recreational, Intermediate, and Advanced level volleyball players in Atlanta. All are welcome! Metro Atlanta Volleyball is the ultimate in Sports & Recreation – it is a very social sport. Beach volleyball is also a great form of low impact exercise. See you on the court!

We'll spend your contributions to fund improvements to public volleyball courts so we have more or better volleyball courts. EVENT INFO
- Adults 18+
- ONLY registered guests should come to play. Registered guests can bring spectators with them.
- No-shows and Late-bailouts hurt the group and can get you banned.
- If unable to arrive at the scheduled start time, PLEASE ADD A NOTE BELOW stating when you do expect to arrive. This allows everyone to know when enough players will be here to start the first game.
- JIM (me) may not always play! Please make sure there are at least 7 signed up (7 less Jim = 6) to allow triples play at a minimum.

FACILITY RULES
- No attitudes. Play hard, but play nice, or be fed to the fire pit.
- NO GLASS OUTSIDE OF YOUR CAR EVER!!! - This is a barefoot facility.
- No Kids Under 10 within the barrier net if EITHER court has a game in progress. NO TOYS SMALLER THAN A VOLLEYBALL ON THE COURTS. NO DIGGING IN THE SAND (to protect the liner under the sand.
- NO ALCHOHOL is permitted per the City of Alpharetta.
On The Court
- Call your own faults!
- No carries (that includes finger pad dinks or "indoor dinks")
- No nets.
- No double contacts (a player contacts the ball twice in succession or the ball contacts except in a single attempt on the first ball over).
- Servers should adjust so opposing players can see you and the ball clearly.
***Feel free to ask those on the court if you can have extra leniency in order to practice your hand-setting skills.***

Pay with credit cards, please. No cash.
Time is 6:30 - 10:00 p.m.
Cost is $5. They will have packages available for frequent players that can reduce the cost per session to as low as $4.They will be playing on 13 courts, which serves the dual purpose of maximizing time on the court while encouraging social distancing.
Registration will take a few minutes, so please be prepared. You may pre-register by going to: https://volleyperformance.pike13.com/group_classes/247837#/list?dt=2020-09-11 and following the prompts.
It is possible that they will have to cancel Open Gym a couple of times during the year. In this event, they will post signage at the front desk the week(s) prior to closure, b) post a message to that effect on this website, and c) send an email blast to our adult email list.
....which brings up an important point: please make sure that they have an accurate email address for you so that they can notify you of any closures and/or special events. Otherwise, there is no need to call to confirm that we're open; just show up when you can and find a court that suits your skill level. If you need help finding the court that best fits your skill level, ask the Gym Manager for assistance.
Alcohol Policy
Volleyball is a social sport. There is now a full service bar and restaurant at the venue.
Please do not bring beverages onto our fancy new floor, however. Drink responsibly. A5 Sportsplex.
