What we’re about
Game night at Metro Coffee. This is a calm hang out where we play fun games as a group. We play all types of games usually with similar mechanics (strategic, deck-building, engine, word, simple, dice, party, other). Open to teaching newcomers and welcoming experienced players as well. In the beginning, we get a feel of what people want to play and choose from there.
Lately, they have had bouncers at the front checking Ids, so just a warning to have one. Also sometimes there are private events scheduled that will prevent the event from happening. This is out of my control.
Keep strong opinions and negative commentary to a minimum. Avoid mocking behavior, gossip, and topics that divide and offend others.
Feel free to bring any games you are interested in. We keep it diverse based on everyone's interests.
Usually, we have more than enough options and could play one game together or branch off. I’ll bring Pandemic, Ticket to Ride (American version), Coup, Catan, Splendor, Liars Dice, Unstable Unicorns, and One-night Ultimate Werewolf.
Winning is great but this isn't Vegas. Be aware of this mentality.
There's limited space and seating. Keep Rsvps to one to two at a time. Rsvp so people know the group is happening.
You can show up whenever, but you may have to wait for others to be free to start a new game.
It's better to recommend games you already know how to play to save on time teaching/ rule reading. Some people arent into an hour of learning (me!)
I will do my best to make it to the meetup, but I am human and things do come up. I will try to inform everyone as soon as I know of any interference with an event.
