Welcome to Austin's Cozy Short Story Circle!

Are you a book lover who finds giant, filler-filled novels overwhelming? Do you have a busy schedule that makes diving into lengthy reads challenging? Then this is the perfect space for you!

Our group is all about celebrating the joy of reading through short stories, with a special emphasis on horror, fantasy, and sci-fi—my personal favorites! However, we’re open to exploring all genres, and each week, we’ll vote on stories based on group suggestions.

We’ll gather at cozy coffee shops, where I’ll do my best to create a warm, inviting atmosphere for our discussions. Imagine a future where we share stories around a campfire, channeling the nostalgic vibes of Are You Afraid of the Dark?

In our meetings, we’ll read three short stories each week, with the option of including additional selections for those eager for more. Everyone is encouraged to share their thoughts, no matter your level of expertise—every opinion is welcome! Our discussions will be relaxed and enjoyable, so there’s no need for intellectual prowess (believe me, I don’t have it either!).

Additionally, I encourage anyone interested to write their own stories! We’ll create a supportive environment where only positive feedback is shared, helping each other grow as storytellers.

We’ll also cycle in novellas from time to time and will seek out free stories from libraries or online resources, as well as occasional paid selections for those who want to explore new works.
